High Triglycerides (Hypertryglyceridaemia)
Hypertriglyceridemia literaly means high triglyceride levels in the blood. Triglycerides (TG) are a part of blood cholesterol. High TG levels heighten the risk of developing heart disease and can be present with or without high total blood cholesterol levels.
- The ideal blood reading : Triglycerides lower than 1.5mmol/l
Nutritional intervention
- Lose weight.
- Become and stay active.
- Eat food low in saturated fats and include mono-unsaturated fats as well as omega 3 fatty acids in your diet.
- Eat foods high in fibre.
